Alicante is a world reference for its beaches. A treasure that must be carefully conserved to preserve its environment and surroundings.
Much less known than bathing on the beaches in the province of Alicante, is the possibility of bathing inland. In a totally different environment. In the mountains, in the shady areas, between gorges and watercourses, in pools and waterfalls, in streams,... Among pine trees and tall poplars. The province of Alicante offers many surprises inland.
I invite you to accompany me to some of these places, a paradise unknown to many. Salinetes, in Novelda, legacy of some baths that were in the same place back in 1858. El Molí del Salt in Benilloba, which was a flour mill centuries ago and now remains its memory. Near the parking lot there is an area of tables to enjoy some food. The Sources of Algar in Callosa d'EnsarriáIn an extraordinary environment of creek, pools and waterfalls, although urbanized with facilities that favor the bath. It is the only one of these places where you have to pay to bathe. Bordering the province of Alicante by Villena or Muro de Alcoy, depending on where you are coming from, the pools of the Clariano de Onteniente river in the valley of a mountain.
There is one thing that happens in all these places: the water is freezing. You have to be brave. But it's worth it, I assure you, for the temperature of the water, for the surroundings, for the place, for the moment and, I'm sure, for the company. And, of course, you must pay attention to the signs that indicate where you can and cannot swim.
All these natural landscapes are well worth a visit with family and/or friends and enjoy, if necessary, a different kind of bathing.
